DateinAsia is a popular Asian-oriented dating website with members from all over the globe. What sets this dating site apart from many other Asian-themed sites is that it’s 100% free. Even though most members are of Asian ethnicity, there are plenty of other members looking for an Asian wife or husband.

I decided to give it a try, and the first time I logged in, I ran into a few unpleasant issues that ruined the experience a bit. First off, I could see that there are many bots, and second, the profile approval process was quite slow. Don’t get me wrong, I like the fact that everything is free, but some things need improvement.

Since it’s a free dating website, there are plenty of fake profiles and scammers, so that’s something you should be aware of before creating a profile. With that said, you can still run into hundreds of active users, but you’ll have to do it from a laptop or a desktop computer since there is no app available.

When compared to other similar websites, Dating in Asia trails behind in terms of customer support, profile safety, and the design could use an overhaul as well. The website allows you to take a look at what’s inside before creating a profile, and that’s a welcomed feature, in my opinion.

Creating a profile on DateinAsia works a little differently than most other dating websites. Instead of going through the standard email or photo verification process, you’ll need a working phone number to activate your profile.

First, you’ll have to enter the details such as your email, password, gender, sexual orientation, city, and birthday. When you’ve filled in the details, the website will ask you for your phone number.

They need it to send you an SMS with an activation number. When you get it, just head on to the website and enter the six-digit code into the required area. Before doing that, you’ll also have to verify your email address. That means that you won’t be able to log in until you’ve verified both. It took the website about two hours to send me the code, so be patient, and you’ll get there eventually.

Although the name of the site is DateinAsia.com, there are plenty of members outside of Asia. The website counts over 60.000 US-based members, with a third of them being active members. There are more men than women, and oddly enough, most of them are located in the US, while most women live in countries like Thailand and Vietnam.

Of course, all of these members are looking for someone to start a romantic relationship with. I ran into members of the LGBTQ+ community, but since there’s no feature that indicates their sexual preferences, I had to read their bios to figure it out.

When it comes to profile quality, DateinAsia offers a few useful features, but some of them are a little bit complicated. For example, every profile is divided into multiple sections, including an area for personal information where you can add more details about yourself.

The “Hashtags” allow you to enter a few hashtags that describe who you are. Naturally, you can upload photos, but only those that show your face because of the face detector security feature I’ll cover in a second. All other photos, including the ones showing nudity, lingerie, fetishes, children, and violence are prohibited.

When it comes to safety, DateinAsia uses a few methods that should help eliminate fake profiles. And they do to a certain extent, but if the people creating those profiles are stubborn enough, they can get through without any issues. For example, all you have to do to create a profile is to provide a phone number and an email address.
Once you’ve created your profile, you can start using it without uploading a single photo. However, if you do upload a photo, the face detector feature will scan every image to make sure that it’s you. That’s why you can only upload photos that clearly show your face.
If you don’t upload a single photo, you can only view messages without the ability to contact other users. So, all things considered, the safety features are not bad at all.

Is DateinAsia.com legit?

With so many fake dating websites, asking if DateinAsia.com is the real deal is understandable. The short answer is – yes, it’s legit. Why? Well, it’s been up and running for more than 15 years. A fake dating website would’ve never survived for that long. The fact that it’s free for everyone often makes people think that it must be fake, but it’s not. You’ll run into fake profiles and an occasional scammer, but you can report those profiles, and they will be deleted soon after. DateinAsia is definitely a legit dating website.

Costs and Prices

As I said before, DateinAsia is free of charge for everyone. There are no “pay to get a date” shortcuts, and every member is treated equally. That’s a breath of fresh air if you ask me, as most other dating apps are most successful only after you get a premium subscription. You can send messages, like profiles, chat, change themes, and use all other features fully without spending a single dime.

Conclusion

My overall user experience is positive, despite the long waiting time during the profile creation process and some design issues that could be a little better. I love the fact that everything is free, and I like the improved security features because they prevent scams and the creation of fake profiles.

All in all, DateinAsia is an exciting platform with plenty of features. You just might find love if you look hard enough.
